Everest Base Camp Trek

5.0 (18 Reviews)

The Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. The trek is more frequently visited than other popular treks, such as the Annapurna Base Camp Trek or the Langtang Valley Trek, which are also well-known among trekkers worldwide. The trek is on the bucket list for many trekkers to reach the base of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. The amazing trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) begins with a thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where the paths twist and turn through beautiful Sherpa villages, high rhododendron forests, and alongside the Dudh Koshi River, offering glimpses of the local culture and the strong presence of the local people.

As the altitude gradually increases from Lukla, you will pass through Namche, Tengboche, and Dingboche. During this trek, trekkers need to acclimatize to the conditions of the Khumbu region. During these treks, trekkers will enjoy stunning views of mountains such as Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. The final section of your walk takes you to Gorak Shep, the last place before you reach Everest Base Camp, at an altitude of 5,364 meters. From Gorak Shep, you will walk to the highest point of the trek, at 5,644 metres, Kala Patthar. This is a rewarding trek, one that provides an immense sense of accomplishment and offers wonderful views of Mount Everest and the Khumbu Icefall up close, which will stay with you forever.

Manaslu Circuit Trek

5.0 (42 Reviews)

5,106m

The Manaslu Circuit trek goes around Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world (8,156 m/26,758 ft). The trek to remote Manaslu begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Arughat, followed by a journey to Soti Khola, which takes a full day before you reach the trekking area to start your trek. The trek opened in 1992 and has since gained popularity, largely due to its amazing natural beauty and pristine surroundings. The trek takes place near the Nepal-Tibet border; therefore, you can see a blend of Hindu and Buddhist cultures along the trail. You will hike through nice forests filled with rhododendron, pine, cedar, birch, and juniper trees, as well as beautiful meadows.

As you continue along the Manaslu route, you will notice a marked change in the land formation, as you will see distinct river gorges cut by the Budhi Gandaki River. The suspension bridges will sway slightly over the roaring river as you cross from one village to the next, both villages on their respective hill sides. With each turn you take, the sheer beauty of the snow-capped peaks before you, of Manaslu included, will leave you speechless with awe and admiration. Prayer flags will blow with the wind, carrying mantras and blessings to the next valley as you make your way through, and there are old monasteries that leave you seeing and understanding how important this part of the world is in relation to growth, spirituality, and connection. Additionally, it is mandatory to bring microspikes or crampons for the trek. For connectivity, we recommend using an NTC SIM, as it provides better coverage in remote areas.

Annapurna I (8,091 meters) is the first ascended mountain in Nepal, and it is also the tenth highest mountain in the world. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the journey that takes you to the foot of this very mountain. It lies in the Annapurna Region and is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world. Since the Everest Base Camp Trek is difficult, many people opt for the ABC trek. What makes this trek unique is that you will experience the natural amphitheater located in the mountains.

Starting from Nayapul, the trek goes through multiple Gurung and Magar villages, adding a cultural angle to the trek. You will closely observe the local culture as you experience their hospitality. Besides, since this trek lies inside the Annapurna Conservation Area, you will get to witness a variety of birds and rhododendrons. It is a moderate trek, but it can also become challenging if you are not properly prepared. That said, it is one such trek that seamlessly blends culture, nature, and adventure, a feat that few treks can offer.

Langtang and Gosaikunda (also written as Gosainkunda) are two of the nearest places from Kathmandu for trekking. These two places are located within Langtang National Park, part of the Langtang region. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is known for its Himalayan adventure despite being closest to the capital city of Nepal. This trek takes you into Nepal’s less crowded mountain region. The journey begins from the village of Syabrubesi and takes you through the Tamang villages and lush forests.

The first half of the trek takes you to the “Valley of Glaciers,” Langtang Valley. Nepal’s one of the longest glaciers, Langtang Glacier, lies in this valley along with multiple other glaciers. During this trek, you will reach Kyanjin Ri (4,773 meters) or Tsergo Ri (5,033 meters). The second half of the trek covers the regions of Gosaikunda Lake. It takes you to the sacred lakes of Gosaikunda, which are popular among both Hindus and Buddhists. Leaving behind Langtang National Park, you will enter the Shivapuri National Park before the trek finishes.
Overall, you will experience the Himalayan trekking experience without going to the Everest or Annapurna Region. But you have to be fully prepared for the trek. You must know about the itinerary, permits, costs, food, accommodations, weather, and other factors. These are important to ensure safe trekking. This article is a comprehensive guide on the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. Read along to add depth to your preparation.

The Everest Three Passes trek is an incredible expedition in the Nepalese Himalayas, combining the famous Everest base camp trek with remote areas of the Khumbu region. The trek goes over three high passes: Kongma La Pass (5,535m/18,159ft), Cho La Pass (5,420m/17,782ft), and Renjo La Pass (5,340m/17,520ft). The trek travels to popular tourist destinations, including Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, Gokyo Ri, and the breathtaking Gokyo Lakes, as well as some remote and amazing places. Similarly, the breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other iconic peaks, are the major highlight of the trek that motivates you to walk in the challenging terrain of the Everest region.

Some of the untouched places are Nangpa La Valley, the friendly Sherpa village of Marlung, and the serene monastery village of Thame. If you want an adventure and challenging trek in the Everest region, the Everest Three Passes trek is ideal. The high altitude, unpredictable weather, steep climbs, glacier crossings, risk of altitude sickness, and demanding physical fitness requirements make the trek challenging. However, every challenge in the journey is rewarding, with each step showcasing the surreal view of the Khumbu region. Similarly, with proper preparation, planning, and assistance, you can complete the trek smoothly.

The 4 days Chisapani Nagarkot Hike is a short and easy hike to see Mt. Everest and many other mountains from Chisapani and Nagarkot. It is a short hiking route near Kathmandu. It is perfect for travellers who want to enjoy mountain views, nature, and local culture without traveling far from the city. This easy hike is suitable for all age groups, including families with children or seniors. No previous trekking experience required. It is available year-round and offers a perfect escape into nature in just a few days.

You will begin the Chisapani Nagarkot hike with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. From here, you will enter Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, Nepal’s newest national park, and start your trek through lush forests and small villages. After 5–6 hours of walking, you’ll reach Chisapani, your first overnight stop. On the following day, you will trek to Nagarkot. The trail intersects with the Helambu Trek at one point, and a right turn leads to the Jhule post, a great spot for a lunch break with views of the surrounding agricultural landscape. The journey then continues through Chauki Bhanjyang and uphill to Nagarkot.

At 2,175 meters above sea level, Nagarkot offers panoramic views of Annapurna, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, and even Mount Everest (its distance means it appears much smaller than the closer ranges) on clear days. For the final day, after enjoying the sunrise from Nagarkot, you have two options to return to Kathmandu: either drive back directly or take a 4 to 5 Hours trek to the ancient Changu Narayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before a vehicle takes you back to the city.

If the given itinerary doesn’t suit your schedule, it can be customized, and you can also upgrade your accommodations for extra comfort.

Nepal has been garnering rapid global attention as a top Himalayan trekking destination. There is no such trail in Nepal that trekkers have not reached. Yes, the crowd in these trails can differ depending on the popularity, but their experience is unmatched. In such a case, a trek that is not crowded and still offers the same experience is a blessing. And that blessing is the Mardi Himal Trek.

So, today it acts as an alternative trekking destination for ABC and other treks in the Annapurna Region. This trek takes you to a height of 4,500 meters (Mardi Himal Base Camp), which is rare for any short trek to do. Langtang Short Trek

The 9 Days Langtang Short Trek is a complete adventure that is easily accessible from the capital city of Kathmandu. Its unspoiled nature, offbeat trails, and grand mountain views make it an excellent alternative to other commercialized trekking destinations in Nepal. Moreover, its moderate difficulty and short duration make it ideal for beginners, family trekkers, and those with a tight schedule.

The Langtang Short Trek starts at Syabru Besi. You will drive on the rough and bumpy mountain road to get there from Kathmandu. The drive offers you the first glimpse of the beautiful Nepalese countryside. From Syabru Besi, the trail winds its way through a forest of pine, juniper, rhododendron, bamboo, and alpine meadows. Similarly, you will come across fast mountain streams, craggy rock, while the snow-capped peaks keep you company.

For the majority of the Langtang Short Trek, the trekking trail follows the Langtang River. However, after you reach Ghodatabela, the valley widens and opens up to a spectacular view of the Langtang Himal range. You will follow the scenic trail toward the Langtang Valley and Kyanjing Gompa. You will also spend the majority of your time walking in Langtang National Park. Thus, you may catch sight of wildlife and different vegetation.

The majority of the population in this region consists of ethnic Tamang groups. They still follow their culture, traditions, and farming practices passed from their ancestors. If you’ve been to Tibet before, the short and simple trek up Langtang will bring back memories of your time there or you can also refer to the Tibet Travel Tips to learn more about Tibet. It is because there is a huge Tibetan influence in the region. The deep cultural immersion during the short Langtang Trek is enriching.

Our 9 Days Short Langtang Trek is a perfect package for those looking to escape the noisy city life into the arms of pristine nature. It is an unforgettable trip that takes the journey deep into the heart of the Langtang region. Its quiet trail, off-beat terrain, and jaw-dropping mountain views are worth taking the trek

Ruby Valley Trek is a unique trek in Nepal for travelers, mainly because it is a less touristy region. It lies in the north-central countryside region of Nepal, the Ruby Valley, surrounded by the more famous Langtang National Park in the east and the Manaslu Conservation Area in the west. It is also called the Ganesh Himal region, as you trek along the foothills of the spiritual Ganesh Himal range, including the majestic Ganesh I (7,422 m), Ganesh II (7,118 m), and Ganesh IV (7,104 m).

There are several routes for the Ruby Valley Trek, but the most scenic and popular trail is the one that leads through the villages of Somdang and Tipling. You’ll first take a drive to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Region. Then, you’ll walk through dense pine forests, and you’ll have chances to spot species of plants and wildlife of the Langtang National Park. The highest point of the trek is the Pangsang La Pass (3,842 m), which offers views of Ganesh Himal along with Langtang and Manaslu ranges. You might also see distant views of the Annapurna range on clear days.

You’ll stay among the Tamang and Gurung communities in their homestays, where you can also enjoy local dishes and learn about their authentic local culture and lifestyle. You can witness and join a cultural Fishing program, hike to the natural hot springs, and many other local activities with local inhabitants. It only takes 9 days, so if you have time, you can continue to the Manaslu Trek or the Langtang Valley Trek after crossing Pangsang La Pass.

The Annapurna Circuit has become one of the most popular treks in Nepal since its inception in 1977 A.D. As the name suggests, this trek is located in the Annapurna Region, inside the Annapurna Conservation Area. The trail circles the Annapurna massif, meaning you can witness the views of the Annapurna mountains from multiple angles. The trek begins in the lush valley and leads to the arid landscape of Manang, culminating in the ascent to Thorong La Pass (5,416 meters), the highest point of the trek. Along the route, you will encounter traditional villages inhabited by the Gurung, Lama, Thakali, and Magar communities.

It used to take more than 20 days to complete the entire trek. However, the development of the road in the lower section has reduced the trek to 15 days or more. Despite the changes, the core of the treks, which are Manang, Muktinath, and Throng La Pass, are not affected, and you can still get the ultimate Himalayan trekking experience from this trek. After reaching Thorong Pass, you will descend to the Muktinath Temple, a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists. Besides, there are other popular side treks like Tilicho Lake Trek, which you can combine with Annapurna Circuit Trek to make it more challenging and rewarding.

Paldor Peak Climbing

5896m

Paldor Peak Climbing is a classic climbing peak in the Langtang region and the Ganesh Himal range in Nepal. The Peak is one of the lesser-climbed peaks and is perfect for adventurous trekkers with some basic mountaineering training. Paldor Peak stands tall at an elevation of 5,896 m in the rural Himalayas. The Peak lies southeast of Ganesh Himal at the junction of Tiru and Karpu Danda ridge above the Tiru River Valley.

In 1949, a legendary team of H.W. Tilman, Peter Lloyd, Tenzing Sherpa, and Da Namgyal first summited Paldor Peak via the Northeast Ridge. Classified as a Group B trekking peak by the Nepal Mountaineering Association, the Peak climbing to Paldor is moderate to difficult and requires the use of technical gear like crampons and ice axes.

The route to Paldor Peak passes through Langtang National Park, filled with rhododendron, fir, and oak forests in lower elevations and alpine areas in higher elevations. Similarly, you’ll pass through Tamang and Gurung villages via monasteries, Chorten, and prayer flags that showcase Tibetan Buddhism throughout the journey. Once you get to the Peak’s summit, the views of Mt. Ganesh Himal (7,422 m), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), Jugal range, and Shishapangma (8,027 m) will appeal to your eyes.

The journey starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi and takes about 14 days in a round trip. Each stop here is an adventure, enclosing many stories for you to uncover. Additionally, with a team of Himalaya Guides, you will know the definition of a true climbing experience as more than just an expedition. We are a local team of this region, so we are delighted to welcome you all and promise to provide a memory for a lifetime.

Trekking Mardi Himal in July 2025. In July,

We traveled to the Mardi Himal Trek! We were a little nervous before we left because it was monsoon season. But thanks to our capable guide Dinesh, our powerful porter Sourav, and a little bit of luck, we were rewarded with breathtaking vistas all along the way! We knew we were in good hands right away because our guide was so competent and informed. Highly recommended local company, Himalaya Guide Nepal.

Manaslu circuit with a visit to Syarang Gumpa October 2023 We had an amazing time hiking around Mount Manaslu. While searching for a local company, we came across Himalaya Guide Nepal, which provides cheap all-inclusive rates along with options for extra excursions and deals. We felt confident after a live WhatsApp conversation, and Chandra Gurung arranged especially for us a side excursion that included a visit and meditation at the Syarang Gompa, one of the monasteries that make up the Five Hidden Valleys. If we asked, Chandra’s brother Dinesh could serve as our guide. He is an extremely competent teacher, guide, and leader who is also very responsible, careful, and kind. He speaks and understands English fluently. He kept an eye out for the greatest places to stay, the most picturesque rooms, and clean restrooms. I highly recommend this company and trekking guide for your holiday in Nepal.
