Rupina La Pass Trek Overview
How many treks are there that are both remote and culturally and historically significant, provide camping as an accommodation, take you through thrilling passes, and satisfy your trekking hunger? The answer is a few. And in that list lies the Rupina La Pass Trek. It takes you to the ancient Gorkha district, the birthplace of modern Nepal. Further, it takes you to the Tsum Valley, whose Tibetan culture enriches your journey as you walk and culturally immerse yourself in this trek. Then there is camping that allows you to sleep beneath the Van Gogh-esque starry sky.
Rupina La Pass Trek lies in the Gorkha District and starts from the Barpak Village. Throughout the trek, you will pass through the Manaslu Conservation Area. Later, you will enter the Tsum Valley and explore the region. This remote and difficult trek covers around 160 km and takes about 20 days to complete, with an average of 5 to 7 hours of daily walking. The natural beauty of mountains like Baudha Himal, Himal Chuli, and Ganesh Himal ranges on the Rupina La Trek adds to the experience. So, if you are seeking a silent trail with camping as an option, this is the trek for you.

Weather and Temperature for Rupina La Pass Trek
The best time to do the Rupina La Pass Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months have moderate temperatures, perfect for trekking. The views are clear during these seasons with minimal rainfall and predictable weather. The risk in these months is low. Facilities along the Rupina La Pass Trek Trail
Since Rupina La Pass Trek is remote, many wonder about the facilities like accommodation, food, water, and medical facilities along the trail. Here is what they are like during this trek:
Foods and Accommodation
While there are basic tea houses at places like Barpark, there aren’t any as you ascend, leaving you with camping as an accommodation option. So, throughout the trek, you will stay at a tented camp. There will be a kitchen tent, a toilet tent, and a sleeping tent. Himalaya Guide Nepal will provide porters and staff to set up the tent and carry your luggage for the trek. Our company offers a twin tent for our guests that offers a hot and delicious variety of food during trekking. The porter will carry rice, lentils, and other food items like noodles and snacks, which they will make and serve you while on the trek.
Water
Since there are not many teahouses along the trail, getting water will be a problem. Water resources like springs, streams, and rivers are available along the trail. You must carry a purification tablet or a portable water filter before using it. The crew will boil it for you, and you can carry it in a bottle during the trek.
Medical Facilities
Due to the remoteness, there are no medical facilities along the route. You must rely on the first aid kits in case of minor injuries or sickness. The trekking guide willĀ carry the first aid kit and provide you with the medication if needed. It is also better to take your first aid kit, depending on your requirements. If you have any medical situations, we recommend you discuss them with your doctor before going on a trek. Besides, ensure that you have travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking.
