trip overview
An “Annapurna Sanctuary Trek” is another name for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It is situated in Nepal’s Gandaki Pradesh’s Kaski District. A simple trip in Annapurna Nepal is the ABC trek. After the trek, 1:30 hours from Pokhara, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins from Dhampus Phedi or Nayapul.
37.1 total kilometers separate from Pokhara from Annapurna base camp. Similarly, Birethanti is an entrance to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP).
You have plenty of time to do this hiking. You may see a paradise of rhododendron forests and colorful blooms in March and April. Autumn lasts from September through November in the Himalayas, with October being the best month to walk the Annapurna Circuit.
Because of the rain, there are no longer any dusty walkways. But Ghorepani Poon Hill, at 3,210m, offers a stunning mountain panorama. This overlook is the primary vantage point for the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. You can view Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Tukuche Peak, the Nilgiri Mountains, the Massif Annapurna Range, Himalchuli, and Lamjung Himal.
The local communities along the Annapurna Sanctuary Trail are typical Gurung and Magar settlements. We have 11 days of excellent climbing up into the Annapurna range on the Annapurna Sanctuary Trip. The cultural dances of several different ethnic groups are also performed in this Annapurna region.
While traveling beneath some of the tallest mountains on Earth, we follow the valley. It develops into a deep canyon before continuing to its glaciated roots at the foot of the towering Annapurna.
The hiking route takes hikers through a lovely ravine after Sinuwa (the trek’s final settlement) until they reach the Annapurna Base Camp, which is located at 4,130 meters. Around 20.8 kilometers separate Sinuwa from the Annapurna base camp.
The journey to Annapurna Base Camp is a modest one, despite so many difficulties. The hike is not particularly difficult. It provides several difficulties, including strenuous and rocky hiking trails, scaling stone stairs, daily walking lengths of five to six hours, and so on.
You can view Annapurna I, which is 8,081 meters high, Annapurna South, Himalchuli, Tent Peak, and Fishtail from Annapurna Base Camp. And many more nearby peaks on this adventure of a lifetime. Join us on your journey to the Himalayas, and we’ll ensure that you have a successful and wonderful vacation in Nepal.
Situated in a national park that is home to the world’s deepest gorge, several high-alpine lakes, and exceptional wildlife.
Moreover, the climate affects Annapurna Base Camp’s safety. Although it is a personal choice, it is suggested that you go to Annapurna Base Camp as a group. Group travel has greater benefits than traveling alone. The variable climate of Annapurna may provide difficulties for walkers.
Kaski, Manang, Mustang, Myangdi, and Lamjung are just a few of the Nepalese districts that are a part of the Annapurna Conservation Area. The Annapurna Base Camp trek offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Pisang, Fishtail, Hiunchuli, Tilicho, and Pungda Danda, among many more peaks.

Climate for ABC Trek: The Annapurna Base Camp Trek Weather And Climate
Normally, the trekking conditions in the Annapurna region depend on the season. The best times to do the ABC Trek are:
- Spring (March to May): This is one of the peak seasons for the trek as there is a moderate climate with mild temperatures and clear skies. There are also good sights as the rhododendron trees growing along the trail have blossomed too.
- Autumn (September to November): This is another peak season for trekking in Nepal, clear skies and mild temperatures characterize autumn. The weather is not very unpredictable and thus, this season is useful for high altitudinal treks. In this season, the major festivities of Nepal in the form of Dashain and Tihar come as well.
- Summer (June to August): Conditions during the summer sequences are not ideal considering the heavy rainfall that features this season. The path can prove to be quite slippery and hard to walk upon as it is often soaked. The weather during this season is also quite humid benefiting regional growth but making it uncomfortable to trek.
- Winter (December to February): This season is suitable for advanced trekkers. However, winter is also associated with high levels of cold such that temperatures may fall below zero at high altitudes. This can go as low as the Annapurna Base Camp. Despite being emptier, this location can provide an ideal experience for seasoned trekkers. Due to a higher probability of snow in certain parts, trekking can be complicated.
The Cuisine/food Between Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Food supply on the trail: On the ABC trek, meals are provided in tea houses or lodges along the way. The cuisine offered is mainly Nepali, Tibetan, and some international cuisines. Regular dishes include:
- Dal Bhat: A meat optional, rice served with lentils and vegetables, pickles are common accompaniments.
- Momo: Tibetan dumplings filled with vegetables or meat.
- Thukpa: A meat and vegetable soup with noodles.
- Fried rice, pasta, and potatoes: These are the most sought-after items for trekkers in need of stamina.
- Tibetan bread and pancakes: These are offered for breakfast with butter and jam.
- Appetizers: Sweets, nuts, and energy bars are sold at most tea shops for quick-fix energy requirements.
- Beverages: Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and fruit juices are general. Local tea or “Chai” should be tried.
Food and the Effect of Altitude: As one climbs higher, the variety of food becomes less. Above 3,000m, it is advisable to expect a more simple diet made of carb-rich diets such as rice, potatoes,s and other similar starches.
3. Accommodation on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Teahouses:
The majority of the ABC Trek has teahouses as accommodation. These are basic boarding houses managed by families that provide dormitory-style beds, blankets, and a communal washroom or restroom. At high elevations, the institutions become more primitive.
- Lower Altitude (1,000m to 2,500m)-More adequate teahouses with private guest rooms and hot showers which one has to pay for.
- Higher Altitude (2,500m-4,130m)-More primitive lodges that have shared rooms; do not have showers (only lukewarm solar-heated water for bathing) and have less luxury.
Cost of Accommodation: Teahouse accommodation costs about NPR 300-800 per night on average. In more elevated areas, it may be a little more expensive.
Facilities: Wi-fi facilities are available at some of the teahouses, but it is likely to be slower and not free. You may also recharge your gadgets including phones, but be prepared to pay for the service, particularly in the higher areas.

Simon ChisnalUKAmazing Annapurna Trek
Amazing Annapurna Trek. The trek was great with amazing scenery. Chandra (Himalaya Guide Nepal Pvt. Ltd.) is very good at responding to emails. So, you can organize almost everything on the internet, including trekking permits.
He is also very available by telephone via the guide; this was good for me as I could vary the itinerary at short notice. They tend to use the same places (lodges and cafes) on the route to keep a reasonable level of quality. Because the sleeping bag was of top quality which is important for cold nights. And everyone in this small, family company is a smiling family. Because of the amazing Annapurna Trek. The trek was great with amazing scenery. Chandra (Himalaya Guide Nepal Pvt. Ltd.) is very good at responding to emails so you can organize almost everything on the internet, including trekking permits.
Jonas MadsenDenmarkAnnapurna Base Camp Trek with Chandra
Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Chandra, I met Chandra in October 2008 when I did the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with him as my guide. I was very impressed by his friendliness and his vast knowledge of Nepalese culture and the local communities. If you go trekking in the beautiful regions of the Himalayas, Chandra is the perfect guide. He is a very professional and skillful guide and you truly feel that you are in good hands even though the trekking itself can be challenging. He is very trustworthy and knows what he is doing.
After we arrived back in Kathmandu. Chandra showed me many different places in the city and even invited me to a local restaurant to try some typical Nepalese food. So, it was a great experience.
Since then I have kept in contact with him and I visit him every time I go back to Nepal. He has invited me to come and visit his own village. And the day I get the time I will definitely go!
I simply can’t recommend him enough.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 2015. We had a fantastic trek with Dinesh in 2015. He is a very friendly and helpful guide. He always answered our questions about the trek and Nepali Gurung culture. I especially liked the “Briefing” he gave each morning or evening, telling us details about the next day of walking.
I also appreciated Dinesh`s flexibility to change our plans easily when we became sick and when the earthquake hit Nepal but we hope to come back in the future and trek with Dinesh again. Thanks.

Luke BrownAustraliaWonderful Time in Nepal
Wonderful Time in Nepal. We had a wonderful time on our Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Nepal in 2015. Dinesh was a likely, knowledgeable, and attractive guide. But his ever-present smile and attention to detail made the more difficult part of the trek easier. It was particularly helpful to hear about the plan for our trek. Because we were alone our daily briefing was perfect for this purpose.
We had seen many mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Himchuli, Fishtail, and many more.
Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. So, I highly recommend this company and hope to return to trek ABC again will. Thanks.

Annapurna Base Camp is a good trek in Nepal. Very nice guide and a very well-organized tour. I got a very good welcome at the beginning of Kathmandu. Did the trek in 8 days which was quite quick but could spend an extra day in Pokhara afterward! 😉
