trip overview

Manaslu Two Passes Trek is the combination of the Larkye Pass 5,160mtrs and Thorong-La Pass 5,416mtrs. Manaslu Two Passes Trek is a developing trekking trail these days. However trekking groups need to buy a special permit due to restricted areas to enter this region to undertake rounds. It’s a magnificent circuit in the Manaslu region but Thorong Pass is well and popular trekking in the Annapurna region.

Manaslu two two-pass trek starts from Arughat to Larkye’s pass in the Manaslu region. After crossing the Larkya Pass 5,160mtrs and entering Annapurna Region on departing Bimtang the Manaslu Circuit descents along the bank of the Dudh Khola, the milky river that spills into the Marsyangdi at the joint of the Annapurna circuit trail at Dharapani and continues upstream to Manang then crosses the Thorong La 5,416mtrs to descend as far as Jomsom in the Kali Gandaki, from where it`s possible to catch a flight out to Pokhara or can walk and drive to Pokhara or Kathmandu.

Manaslu two passes trek is an adventurous trek combination of two passes. But can explore different cultures, mountains, and people from two trekking regions. Site of Manaslu with attractive views of Shringi Himal 7,161mtrs, Himalchuli 7,893mtrs, Nagdi Chuli (Peak 29) 7,871mtrs, Mt. Manaslu 8,163mtrs, Ganesh Himal II 7,118mtrs, Simnang Himal 6,251mtrs, Saula Himal 6,235mtrs, Cheo Himal 6,812mtrs, Himlung Himal 7,126mtrs and other.

The unique landscape, species of birds, diversity in plants, Ancient Gumba, wildlife, and flora fauna with fewer trekkers. This trek offers spectacular mountain views of the numerous above the 7,000m and Annapurna snowy peaks as well as a nice popular trekking route with many trekkers and comfortable guesthouses along the trek.

This trip is the best combination of the Manaslu Larkya Pass 5,160M and Annapurna Thorong La Pass 5,416M in the Himalayas of Nepal. We are happy to organize your time and interest such as budget, standard, and deluxe services.

Day09

Samdo - Larkye Bazaar to Dharamsala 4,460M/3-4 Hours.

Another mani wall marks the starting of ascent to the pass where the trail starts climbing through juniper; the huge Larkya Glacier coming from Mt. Manaslu 8,163mtrs can be seen from here. Stay on the ridge to the right to find a trail that crosses over the top of two ravines.

The days climb gradually over the ridge behind Dharamsala and beside the large lateral moraine of the Larke Glacier. The climb is not very difficult but it is long and rocky underfoot, particularly as you top the moraine. Look for cairns and metal snow poles which assist route finding.

Descend past four frozen lakes and make a final tiring climb to the left up to Larkya La 5,160mtrs, the top marked by prayer flags hanging on snow poles. It takes about 3-4 hours to reach the pass and it can be very cold and windy with risk if there is a late afternoon.

The peaks to the west are Himlung Himal 7,126mtrs near Tibet Kang Guru 6,981mtrs, Annapurna II 7,937mtrs range, and other peaks. The way-long descent loses gravel to a welcome more level area with grassy moraine, where the angle eases.

The trail now runs left of the large lateral moraine, rocky at times, in a wide and beautiful valley all the long way to very scenic Bimtang 3,590mtrs “plain of sand” a descent of 1,400mtrs in about 3-4hours and overnight at lodge.

Manaslu/Annapurna Two Pass Trek

For our trek through the Manaslu/Annapurna Two Pass, we employed Himalaya Guide Nepal.  They were fantastic from beginning to end.  It was really simple to work with Chandra.  He not only oversaw the 3-week walk but also helped us organize our time in Kathmandu for the first few days and a week of sightseeing in Pokhara and Chitwan after the trek.  Our hiking guide, Dinesh, was excellent and very knowledgeable.  For your trekking and tour in Nepal, I heartily suggest Himalaya Guide Nepal.

Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit Trek 2022

We had a group of 11 people who trekked the Manaslu and Annapurna Circuits in October 2022 with Himalaya Guide Nepal. It took twenty days to complete the trek. Due to HGN’s exceptional leadership, we had a wonderful time. They gave us advice right away on how difficult the journey would be (it was difficult), what to bring, and how to extend our stay in Nepal both before and after the hike. They performed a great job leading our party of hikers with different hiking speeds and preferences. They served as servers and takers of food orders as well as photographers and camp counselors. They are the best option for any trek you are considering in Nepal, in my opinion.

Manaslu/Annapurna Two Passes Trek October 2022

We completed the Manaslu/Annapurna Two Pass Trek with Himalaya Guide Nepal in October 2022. This trip exceeded our expectations in every way. Working with Chandra and everyone at Himalaya Guide Nepal was a breeze. We spent an additional week in Nepal after the trek, which lasted 21 days in total. HGN backed us and assisted us in arranging transport for that leg of the journey as well.

Debbie Vandergeest Groskopf Debbie Vandergeest GroskopfUSA 5

Our expectations were surpassed by the hike and working with HGN – October 2022

It was simple to collaborate with the company to plan the vacation. Very informed, accommodating, and helpful for our Manaslu Two Passes trip.

The guides took care of our group’s health and safety, catered to all of our needs, met our expectations, and had a thorough understanding of Nepalese culture and mountain orientation.

We were delighted with every aspect of our trip, including the 22 days climb across two passes to the peaks of Manaslu Larya Pass 5160M and Annapurna Thorong La Pass 5416M.

Manasalu Two Passes Trek – 2017

Manasalu Two Passes Trek – 2017, We had a fantastic time on the 24-day trek of the Manaslu and Annapurna Circuits.
In terms of Himalaya Guide Nepal, I couldn’t recommend the company enough. Our guide and porter were a lovely duo – great English and a lot of fun to spend that amount of time with. I thought the price was fair too. Manaslu you need to have a guide with you – they will check! – but Annapurna you can do without a guide.

The trail was gorgeous. I would recommend the Manaslu trek over Annapurna. Manaslu is the trail the whole way and is almost empty of tourists (May 17). You still see a lot of Nepalese culture, wildlife, and beauty. There are some landslide zones from the Earthquake but the tea houses etc are open for business.

Manasalu Two Passes Trek – 2017, I walked the Annapurna circuit in 2009 as well. I would say that it has changed a lot since then. The benefit for the community is great to see, but the trek has lost its appeal. You are essentially walking a jeep dirt track rather than a trail – it depends on what you want from a trek, if you are looking for beauty I would preferentially head to Manaslu.

Doing the circuits back to back was a lot of fun and if you are looking for a trek of this duration. I would highly recommend the trek and the company we went with.

Manaslu and Annapurna Circle

Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit, I have my trekking booked locally. So I met in Kathmandu with Chandra repeatedly and he has taken a lot of time for me. The night before the trek then I could even take my guide. The trek was great and surpassed my expectations. The Guide has always tried hard for me. And has credited to my wishes. Everything works beautifully and the tour was very inexpensive.
I was alone with the guide on the go and always had my own room. So, I am thrilled by the mountains of Nepal and this organization. For my next trekking, I’ll book again with them, Chandra really organized everything very professionally … Thank you so much Simbir and Chandra. !!!
