Trip Overview

Langtang and Gosaikunda (also written as Gosainkunda) are two of the nearest places from Kathmandu for trekking. These two places are located within Langtang National Park, part of the Langtang region. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is known for its Himalayan adventure despite being closest to the capital city of Nepal. This trek takes you into Nepal’s less crowded mountain region. The journey begins from the village of Syabrubesi and takes you through the Tamang villages and lush forests.

The first half of the trek takes you to the “Valley of Glaciers,” Langtang Valley. Nepal’s one of the longest glaciers, Langtang Glacier, lies in this valley along with multiple other glaciers. During this trek, you will reach Kyanjin Ri (4,773 meters) or Tsergo Ri (5,033 meters). The second half of the trek covers the regions of Gosaikunda Lake. It takes you to the sacred lakes of Gosaikunda, which are popular among both Hindus and Buddhists. Leaving behind Langtang National Park, you will enter the Shivapuri National Park before the trek finishes.
Overall, you will experience the Himalayan trekking experience without going to the Everest or Annapurna Region. But you have to be fully prepared for the trek. You must know about the itinerary, permits, costs, food, accommodations, weather, and other factors. These are important to ensure safe trekking. This article is a comprehensive guide on the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. Read along to add depth to your preparation.

Detailed Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Itinerary

Day01

Arrival in Nepal Airport 1350m/30 Min.

The staff from Himalaya Guide Nepal will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. They will welcome you to Nepal and drive you to your hotel. You will either visit the office for a short briefing, or the guide will brief you about the trek at your hotel. Since you will be leaving for the trek tomorrow, you must ensure all your items are in place and the packing is done. You can buy it in the Thamel area if you don’t have any gear or equipment. Ensure you also buy some protein bars, energy bars, and electrolytes.

Day02

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi via Trishuli

Today is the first day of your Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking journey. After breakfast, you will join your guide and head for Syabrubesi on a local bus or a private jeep. Syabrubesi is about 122 km northwest of Kathmandu and will take you about 6 to 8 hours to reach.

On the way, you will pass through Trishuli Bazaar, following the banks of the Trishuli River. The road is smooth till there. However, it gets rugged once it crosses Trishuli Bazaar. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, the guide will locate you at your accommodation. You can explore the village after you freshen up.

Day03

Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel via Bamboo

Your trek begins early in the morning after breakfast. Today’s destination is the Lama Hotel, which is not to be confused with an actual hotel; the Lama Hotel is actually a place. It is located within the Lantang National Park. Since Syabrubesi is the starting point of the Langtang Region Treks, you can also get the Langtang National Park Permit here. The other famous trail—the Tamag Heritage Trail—also starts from here.

You will walk along the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. After a few hours, you will join the Langtang River to reach the Bamboo, where you will have your lunch. Along the way, you will witness various birds and beehives hanging on the rock. The next stop after Bamboo is Rimche. To reach Rimche, you will pass through rhododendron and oak forests. Lama Hotel is now a 30 to 45-minute hike from Rimche. There is a river near the Lama Hotel, which you can visit after keeping your bags at the tea house.

Day04

Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village via Ghodatabela

In today’s hike, you will continue to ascend along the Langtang River. Initially, the trail is steep and goes through the dense forest. You will soon start noticing the Langtang Lirung (7,234 m). The narrow trail becomes wider at Ghoda Tabela, where the army checkpoint lies. You have to submit your permits here. It is at this place that you will have your lunch.

The Langtang Village is about 3 to 4 hours from Ghoda Tablea. On the route, you will pass through Tamang Villages and yak fields. The scenic trail will finally lead you to the Langtang Village at an elevation of 3,430 m.

Itinerary Meal: B+L+D
Accommodation: Lodges
Duration: 5–6 hours
Distance: ~14 km

Day05

Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa via Mundu

Today’s trek is relatively easier and shorter than the previous one. As usual, you can start your trek early after breakfast or even after lunch. This is because it only takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach Kyanjin Gompa, the next resting point. We recommend you start early and explore the Kyanjin Gompa and its surroundings.

Today, you will trek through the yak pastures and glacial moraines. Since you are closer to the Gompa, you can witness multiple mani walls, prayer flags, and chortens on the way. Passing through Laja Khola, you will reach the vantage point which offers a panoramic view of Langtang Lirung Icefall and Mount Langtang Kinshung (6,781 m). You will pass through the village of Mundu to reach the Kyanjin Gompa. The place got its name from the name of the monastery. During the evening hours, you can visit the cheese factory.

Itinerary Meal: B+L+D
Accommodation: Lodges
Duration: 3-4 hours
Distance: ~7 km

Day06

Acclimatization and Exploration Day in Kyanjin Gompa - Optional hike to Tsergo Ri

Today is the first acclimatization day in your Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. Rather than resting, you will explore the Kyanjin Gompa. The two optional hikes are to Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m) or Tsergo Ri (5,033 m). Both places are the highest points around the region and offer panoramic views of the Langtang Range. If you are trekking to any of these points, you must understand that both are extremely demanding. The chances of altitude sickness increase. So, ensure that you maintain a regular pace. Reaching such heights and descending to Kyanjin Gompa will allow your body to adapt to the thinning oxygen level.

Itinerary Meal: B+L+D
Accommodation: Lodges

Day07

Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel via Langtang Village

Now that you have completed the Langtang section of the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, you will descend to begin the Gosaikunda section. Your destination today is the Lama Hotel. Since you will have to cover approximately 21 km, you should start the trek as early as possible after breakfast. You will follow the same trail you took to ascend to Kyanjin Gompa. You will pass through villages like Mundu, Langtang Village, Thangshyap, Thomna, Ghodatabela, and Gunachowk to reach the Lama Hotel. Today’s elevation loss is expected to be around 1,400 m. Since it is a descent, it will take approximately 6 to 7 hours to reach the Lama Hotel.

Itinerary Meal: B+L+D
Accommodation: Lodges
Duration: 6-7 hours
Distance: ~21 km

Day08

Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru via Rimche

After a few hours, you will reach Forpang Danda (Forpang Hill), which provides panoramic views of the mountain vistas. You will have your lunch here.

After finishing your lunch, you will head towards the lush forests. Along the way, you will come across Buddhist monasteries and chortens. You might witness the red pandas in this section, too. Itinerary Meal: B+L+D
Accommodation: Lodges
Duration: 5-6 hours

Day10

Trek from Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda via Lauribinayak

Even though today’s hike covers around 9 km, it is difficult as you have to gain more than 1,000 meters of elevation. It will take at least 6 hours to do so. If you start early, you will reach Gosaikunda before the sun sets, so you will have plenty of time to explore the lakes. Instead of having your breakfast at Shin Gompa, you can have it at Cholangpati. You can see Lantang Lirung and other mountains from here.

From Cholangtpati, you will ascend as the trail leads to Saraswati Kunda at 4,165 meters, for which you have to pass through Lauribinayak. Side Trip in Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

Kyangin Ri

Kyangin Ri (4,773 m) is one of the most popular side trips from Kyangjin Gompa. After you reach Kyanjin Gompa, you will spend a day there, during which you can choose a few of the side trips, one of which is Kyanjin Ri. The trail is steep but rewarding. It typically takes 3–4 hours to ascend and descend.

Tserko Ri

Tserko Ri (5,033 m) is a more challenging and higher alternative to Kyangin Ri. The trail winds through yak pastures and alpine landscapes. Upon reaching Tserko Ri, you will be treated to jaw-dropping 360-degree views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and other surrounding peaks. Unlike Kyanjin Ri, it requires a full-day round trip from Kyangjin Gompa.

Langshisha Kharka

Langshisha Ri (6,457 m) in the Langtang region is a peak that is climable. Langshisha Kharka comes before this peak. You must trek an additional two days from Kyanjin Gompa to reach Langshisha Kharka. From Kyanjin Gompa, you will first head towards Numthang and stay a night there. On the second day, you will reach Langshisha Kharka. The hike to this alpine meadow takes you through glacial moraines and river valleys surrounded by towering peaks.

Ganja La Base Camp

Ganja La Base Camp is situated directly before Ganja La Pass, the highest pass in the Langtang Region, at an elevation of 5,130 meters. It takes approximately 5 to 6 hours of hiking to reach the base camp from Kyanjin Gompa. It is also known as Ganja La Phedi. You can enjoy a camping night under the starry sky at the base camp.

High Passes in Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

Gosaikunda Pass (4,165m)

Gosaikunda Pass (4,165m) is the pass that arrives just before the Gosaikunda Lakes (4.380 m). It acts as a gateway to the sacred lakes. The crossing is an adventurous experience that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayas.

Lauribina Pass (4,610m)

After Ganja La Pass, Lauribina Pass is the second-highest pass in the Langtang Region. According to our itinerary, you will arrive at this pass on the 10th day after your trek begins. This alpine pass can be physically challenging and even risky. Therefore, you must be cautious with your footing.

Thadepati Pass (3,690m)

Thadepati Pass lies in the Helambu Region and falls between Ghopte and Kutumsang. Unlike Laurebina La Pass, it is relatively easier. Its vantage point provides a wide view of the lush valley. It also marks a transition from the alpine to the more temperate forest zones of the trek.

Unique Features of Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

Langtang National Park | Flora and Fauna

Langtang National Park, established in 1976, is Nepal’s first Himalayan National Park. Both Gosaikunda and Langtang Valley lie inside the park. It shares its border with the Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet. The park’s forests are subtropical, hill, temperate, sub-alpine, and alpine. It is rich in biodiversity, boasting approximately 15 species of Rhododendron. Therefore, during peak spring, your trekking route will be vibrant with a wide range of colors. Additionally, the park is renowned for having the largest population of red pandas in Nepal. Other animals found in the region are the Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, wild dog, ghoral, serow, and many more. The park is home to more than 250 species of birds.

Gosaikunda Lake | Pilgrimage Site

Gosaikunda Lake (4,380 m) in Rasuwa District is one of the most revered sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. It is believed that when Lord Shiva drank the poison from the “Samundra Manthan,” he pierced the ground to soothe his throat. The place where he pierced the ground formed Gosaikunda Lake. It is also the birthplace of the Trishuli River. Hindus from the neighbouring villages and districts visit Gosaikunda during the Janai Purnima in August. Similarly, Buddhists visit the lake to pray for the deceased. They believe that praying here will bring peace and joy to the deceased in the afterlife.

Cultural Richness | Tamang and Tibetan Buddhist influences

Langtang Valley is considered a hidden valley that Guru Padmasambhava blessed, which proves its cultural significance. The majority of people who inhabit Langtang are Tamang and Sherpas. Like many regions of Nepal that share their border with Tibet, the people of Langtang follow Tibetan Buddhism and speak the Tibetan Language. They call themselves “Langtangpa.” The Tibetan influence is visible in their culture, architecture, and day-to-day life. Monasteries, prayer flags, and mani walls are the common features along the trek.

Diverse landscapes | Rhododendron Forest, Mountains, and Glaciers

The Langtang Gosaikunda Region has a diverse landscape that shifts significantly as you ascend. The lower region around Syaburbesi and Lama Hotel is covered with lush rhododendron forests, which slowly disappear as the altitude increases. The path is a vibrant corridor when the rhododendron flowers fully bloom in the Spring. The paths become rugged at higher elevations, and the rocky hillside, glaciers, and high passes come into view. Towering peaks of Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), Ganesh Himal (7,422 m), and Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m) are seen throughout the trek.

Facilities During the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

Accommodations

Lodges and tea houses are the two main accommodations available during the trek. Our guide will book and handle the accommodation, and the price during the trek is included in the package. The rooms of the lodges and tea houses usually have basic twin beds with bedding that is enough to handle the temperature. The rooms are not insulated, and the bathrooms are shared. These accommodations offer amenities such as hot showers, charging stations, and Wi-Fi at an additional cost.

Foods

Throughout your trek, you will have breakfast and dinner at the tea house or lodge where you stay a night. You will also have lunch at a tea house at the stopping point. The meals typically consist of Dal, Bhat, and Tarkari (lentil soup, steamed rice, and vegetable curry). However, there are other options available too. They include noodles, mo: mo, fried rice, soups, pancakes, etc. Even though the choices are simple, you should focus on eating foods with high carbohydrates. You should also carry energy and protein bars to deal with pangs of hunger while on the trail.

Drinking Water

Bottled water is available at tea houses for about USD 1. The price can increase as the elevation increases, reaching up to USD 5 at higher altitudes. This option can get expensive. Hence, you should consider carrying a water bottle and filling it up where you are staying. You can also carry water purification tablets or filters to drink, tap, and stream water. You should also carry electrolytes to replenish the minerals lost.

Charging and Internet

Internet and electricity are both available at most tea houses. You can charge your mobile phone or camera at a small fee. Carrying a charging bank might save you some money. Similarly, you can access the internet, but you must also pay for it. However, the connectivity can be slow or inconsistent. You can carry local SIM cards for mobile networks, but the signal strength weakens as you climb higher.

Medical Facilities and Emergency Evacuation

Since no major health posts are along the trail, you must consider the possibilities and carry first aid. It should include medicines like Cetamol, Diamox, and so on. If you have any personal medical history, you should consult with your doctor and take the medicine with you. Your guide will be trained in providing first aid. However, the guide will proceed with emergency evacuation if the situation gets out of hand and you need immediate medical attention.

Weather and Temperature for Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

Weather and temperature are crucial in a Himalayan Trek like the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. In fact, the weather in the higher region can get unpredictable. The sunny day can suddenly change into a stormy one. You must also understand the weather and temperature to determine the packing list. Not only that, but they are also important in determining the best time for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. Let us break down each season:

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek in Spring Season ( March to May)

Spring is one of the most enjoyable times for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. The average daytime maximum temperature ranges between 10°C and 20°C in lower elevations like Syabrubesi. At higher elevations, however, it can reach up to -6°C at night. The Langtang region receives low to moderate rainfall, especially during May (the pre-monsoon month).

Sunlight lasts 7 to 9 hours daily. The skies are usually clear, offering clear views of the Langtang Himal Range. Wind speeds are moderate at 10-115 km/h, with the higher regions being windier. The overall weather is stable and predictable, making it the best season for the Gosaikunda Langtang Trek. Here are some reasons why you should consider this trek in the spring season:

  • In Spring, rhododendrons and wildflowers bloom, creating a colorful trail.
  • You can witness clear mountain views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding peaks.
  • The temperature is mild, so it is comfortable for trekking at all altitudes.
  • You will get the chance to experience local festivals like Buddha Jayanti in Spring.

However, the trek route can be crowded during Spring, one of the best seasons for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek in Monsoon/Summer Season (June to August)

Monsoon or Summer season is considered the off-season for Langtang Gosainkunda Trek because of the hot and humid weather it brings. The daytime temperature in the lower region can reach up to 31 degrees, which is its highest temperature. The lower temperature is recorded in high-altitude regions, such as Laurebina Pass, at around 4°C at night. Since it is the monsoon season, Langtang and gosaikunda receive the maximum rainfall.

The daylight hours are minimal during the Summer, so it is better to start early to avoid the afternoon sun and sudden downpours. The humidity is highest as it is the monsoon season. Winds are light at 5 to 10 km/h but may get strong during storms. Here is why you should choose the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek in the Summer/Monsoon season:

  • You can witness lush green landscapes and vibrant vegetation after rainfall in the summer season.
  • There will be fewer trekkers on the trail. Hence, the summer trek offers solitude.
  • The temperature is warm in the higher region, so walking is comfortable.
  • You can witness waterfalls and active streams in full flow.
  • Experience the crowds of devotees in Gosaikunda during Janai Purnima.

However, the trails might be slippery and full of leeches since it’s Summer. There is also a high chance of a landslide blocking the path.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek in Autumn Season (Semptember to November)

Autumn is another good time for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. Like Spring, the temperature is moderate, and the weather is predictable. The average daytime temperature at lower elevations, such as Syabrubesi, is approximately 20°C. However, nighttime temperatures in regions like Gosaikunda can reach as low as -3°C. Since Autumn is the post-monsoon season, there is minimal rainfall.

The sunlight hours are about 9 hours, which is maximum in any season. The speed of the wind is mild at about 10 km/h. The views are crystal clear, offering unobstructed mountain views. Here are a few reasons why you should choose the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek in the Autumn Season:

  • Trekking is comfortable because of pleasant daytime temperatures with crisp, cool evenings.
  • The autumn season offers crystal-clear mountain views and stable weather conditions.
  • It is a peak trekking season with well-maintained trails and open lodges.
  • The festive season, including Dashain and Tihar, falls during Autumn.

However, you might consider booking accommodation beforehand, as it is the peak season.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek in Winter Season (December to February)

Like Summer, Winter is considered the off-season for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek due to heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures. Even in the lowest region, the temperature averages about 10°C during the daytime. At night, the temperature in regions like Kyanjin Gompa can reach up to -10°C and even below. The upper regions receive heavy snowfall, making the path difficult to navigate.

The average sunlight hour is about 7 hours. The wind speed is about 15 to 20 km/h in the exposed areas. The humidity is lower, so the atmosphere is dry. Here are a few reasons why you should consider this trek during Winter:

  • The mountains and landscapes are covered in snow, which is a sight. You will also get to witness the frozen Gosaikunda Lake.
  • There will be very few trekkers, offering a quiet and serene experience
  • Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking in Winter is challenging, so any adventurers seeking an adrenaline rush can choose this season.

However, since the path is covered in snow, it’s hard to navigate it, and the chances of slipping by stepping on ice increase. Accommodations in the upper regions might be closed due to severe freezing temperatures.

Season-wise Temperature Table for Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Difficulty

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is relatively easier than other Himalayan treks. However, its difficulty level is not easy but moderate. It means you must be able to walk for at least seven or eight hours in the rugged terrain. So, you have to be physically fit. You don’t have to be an athlete-level fit, but you have to be fit enough to maintain the pace. That said, let us dive into a few factors that determine the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek difficulty.

Altitude Sickness

Altitude Sickness is a major concern in any high-altitude trek, including the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. The highest point of this trek is either Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m) or Tsergo Ri (5,033 m). The risk of altitude sickness increases tenfold as you cross the Lama Hotel. The oxygen level beyond 2,500 tends to decrease with increasing altitude. Hence, your body fails to adapt to the atmosphere, resulting in altitude sickness.

Tips to Deal with Altitude Sickness

Since the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek reaches beyond 4,000 meters multiple times, you must be careful about altitude sickness. Here are a few tips to deal with it:

  • Acclimatize to allow your body to adapt to the thinning oxygen level
  • Drink at least 3 to 4 litres of water daily to stay well-hydrated.
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as they can dehydrate you.
  • Maintain the same pace to avoid overexertion.
  • Take medication like Diamox after consulting with doctors.

Look out for symptoms like headache, dizziness, and fatigue. Descend if you witness any of these symptoms.

Rugged Terrain and Difficult Trails

Another factor determining the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is its rugged terrain and steep climbs and downs. The uneven paths and narrow trails often cause physical strain. If you do not maintain the regular pace, you will stop at multiple places to take a deep breath. Your heart rate will increase, so you won’t be able to breathe. The ascent becomes tougher as you approach Kyanjin Gompa. The thinning air adds to the difficulty. Moreover, the trail will become wet if it’s snowing or raining, increasing the chances of accidents.

Tips to Deal with Rugged Terrain and Difficult Trails

  • Wear sturdy, high-ankle trekking boots for ankle support and grip.
  • Use trekking poles to reduce strain on knees during ascents and descents.
  • Walk at a steady pace; avoid rushing, especially on uneven paths.
  • Stretch before and after trekking to reduce muscle fatigue.

Long Distance and Duration

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek covers around 140 to 150 Km (starting from Syabrubesi and ending at Sundarijal) in total. On average, the trek takes about 12 days to complete (excluding the acclimatization day). Each day, you must walk for about 6 to 8 hours to reach the resting point. Including the lunch and rest breaks, the time to reach the place of stay can be even longer. If not started early, you might get caught in the dark. Trekking continuously for such a long duration daily in the remote region can be physically and mentally taxing.

Tips to Deal with Long Distance and Duration

Start training to increase your physical endurance at least a month prior to starting your Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. Focus on cardio and leg strengthening exercises.

  • Take short breaks during the day to rest your muscles.
  • Carry light snacks like nuts and energy bars to maintain stamina.
  • Pack only essentials to reduce backpack weight.
  • Start early in the morning to cover the long distance when the sun is still up

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Permit

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek requires three permits: the Langtang National Park Permit, the Shivapuri National Park Permit, and the Trekkers’ Information Management System Card (TIMS Card). The Langtang National Park permit allows you to trek inside the park, and the TIMS card ensures your safety. The other permit you will require is the Shivapuri National Park Permit. You need this permit as the trail goes through this park before entering Kathmandu. The price for the permits and places where you can obtain them are as follows:

Permit Cost (Foreigners) Cost (SAARC Nationals) Where to Obtain
Langtang National Park Entry Permit NPR 3,000 (~USD 25) NPR 1,500 (~USD 11) Nepal Tourism Board (Kathmandu) or Park Entry Checkpoints (Syaburbesi)
TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System) NPR 2,000 Per person (~USD 15) NPR 1,000 (~USD 8) Nepal Tourism Board (Kathmandu) or Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) office
Shivapuri- Nagarjun National Park NPR 1,000 (~USD 8) NPR 600 (~USD 4) Nepal Tourism Board (Kathmandu) or Park Entry Checkpoints

Note: Children under 10 don’t have to pay for the national park permit. However, to avoid last-minute hassle, we recommend obtaining permits before your trek starts.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Cost

The 14 days Langtang Gosaikunda Trek package comes at USD 895 per person at Himalaya Guide Nepal. The prices are lower as the group increases because trekking in a group is relatively cheaper than trekking alone. The trek package includes the price of a guide, food and accommodations during the trek, transportation for the trek, permits, and so on.

Langtang Gosaikunda Cost Breakdwon

Food Cost

The food at tea houses in the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek’s trails must be carried on foot. Hence, they are expensive than in the city. You have to pay anywhere from USD 5 to USD 15 per meal. The price depends on the menu you choose. Overall, it will cost you around USD 20 to USD 30 per day for three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Permit Cost

As mentioned, you need two permits (TIMS card and Langtang National Park Permits) to trek in the Langtang Region legally. Depending on your nationality, you have to pay either USD 22 or USD 48.

Accommodation Cost

Tea houses and Lodges charge about USD 5 to USD 15 for an overnight stay. Lodges and hotels are slightly more expensive than tea houses. As you ascend, the amenities get limited, and the price also tends to go higher.

An experienced guide charges about USD 25 to USD 35 per day for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. As per the recently implemented policy, you must be compulsorily accompanied by a guide to trek. It doesn’t include the tips for the guide.

Transportation Cost

The transportation cost covers your trip to the trek’s starting point and your return to Kathmandu after the trek. A local bus will cost you about USD 15 to USD 20. If you are trekking in a group, you can even hire a private jeep for about USD 100 to USD 150. The transportation cost also covers both pick-up and drop-off services to and from the airport.

Trekking Langtang Gosainkunda in 2023

We have done five treks in Nepal, all with Himalaya Guide Nepal Pvt. Ltd.

The hike was fantastic with the breathtaking landscape, but it was made much more memorable by our great porter, Basing, and guide, Kumar. The hike was more difficult than we had anticipated, with several days of constant climbing (particularly in the first few days), and we seemed to be moving a little more slowly now that we are in our late 60s. Even so, we laughed a lot, had a great day, and were in complete amazement at the breathtaking sights. I am at a loss for words to convey my appreciation to Basing and Kumar.

Kumar is a young man with a lot of skill in addition to being an experienced guide, he is polite, considerate, and considerate (if you get the chance, make sure he plays the guitar and sings—you’ll be quite impressed). We had complete trust in him; thus our trek was stress-free because we knew that all of our concerns would be met. Regarding Basing, despite his enormous burden, he never lacked a smile or a helpful hand. It goes without saying that for any hiking in Nepal, I heartily suggest Himalaya Guide Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
