Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour With Landing

Around 5,545 m

Alongside breathtaking glaciers and Sherpa villages, experience the majestic Everest without the need for a trek with our Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour package. It is perfect for those short on time but high on wanderlust. Also referred to as the Everest Heli Tour, it offers front-row views of the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest (8,848.86m), along with iconic spots such as Lukla, Pheriche, Kalapatthar, and Everest Base Camp.

You fly over dramatic landscapes, glaciers, and Sherpa villages. Then, stop at the Everest View Hotel in Syangboche for a delicious breakfast alongside panoramic Himalayan views. This is the ultimate high-altitude experience for thrill-seekers, photographers, or anyone chasing Everest dreams. More importantly, this tour offers flexible booking options for your convenience, making it perfect for travelers with tight schedules.

Everest Base Camp helicopter tour to Lukla from Kathmandu

The journey to Everest Base Camp by helicopter starts with an early morning hotel pickup in Kathmandu. Then, you land at Lukla Airport (2,860m), famously known as the gateway to Everest. This short flight takes around 45 minutes and offers sweeping views of the Himalayan foothills.

Lukla is the first landing point for refueling and is a crucial stop for all EBC helicopter trips. From here, the helicopter continues its journey toward Pheriche, a key landing point before the final flight to Everest Base Camp. The change in aircraft at Lukla ensures safety and optimal altitude adjustment before flying higher into the Khumbu region.

Everest base camp helicopter tour with landing price

The cost of the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with landing depends on whether you join a group (on a sharing basis) or book a private charter. Prices also vary slightly based on the season and availability.

  • Shared Flight: The price starts at $1,400 per person for a shared flight to Everest Base Camp. If you book for a group of 5, the total cost is $5,800, which brings the price down to $1,160 per person (discounted for the group).
  • Private Charter: A private helicopter charter ranges from $5,500 to $8,500, depending on the number of passengers (a maximum of 5 people).

The tour includes multiple landings: one for refueling at Lukla, one at Pheriche, and one at the Everest View Hotel for breakfast. You’ll get aerial views of Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar. You get ample time to take photos and soak in the world’s most iconic mountain range during the helicopter flight to Everest.

Note 1: Helicopters are not permitted to land directly at Everest Base Camp due to safety and environmental concerns. The helicopter hovers near EBC and lands at Kalapatthar or Pheriche, depending on the weather and regulations.

Note 2: Prices may vary slightly during peak seasons (March to May and September to November) due to demand and availability.

Helicopter Rescue from Gorakshep

5,154 m (Gorakshep)

Are you considering hiking to the base of Everest but are worried about the difficulties and dangers? You can experience your adventure with safety and peace of mind when you purchase our “Helicopter Rescue from Gorakshep” package.

The closest stop to Everest Base Camp is Gorakshep or Gorak Shep, which is a famous stop in the Everest region. Unlike other communities in the Everest Region, Gorakshep is a unique settlement rising to a height of 5,154 meters. It resembles a seasonal village, with residents only settling during tolerable seasons like spring and autumn. Due to the intense rain and snowfall, rural life can be particularly challenging during the monsoon and winter. For this reason, the village has more inhabitants during the fall and spring, and fewer during the other seasons.

There are a good number of teahouses along the Everest Base Camp Trek route. These teahouses, or lodges, are managed by locals, mostly Sherpas, who supply food and accommodation to trekkers at Everest Base Camp. Trekkers from Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Pangboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche hike all the way to Gorakshep. The settlement is two to three hours distant from the Everest Base Camp.

Gorakshep is the final destination to reach if they choose to visit Kala Patthar (5,550 m) or any other nearby mountain passes. It is well-known for serving as a rest stop for climbers and descenders of Everest Base Camp. Since Gorakshep is a small settlement, there are basic accommodation options. Most lodges run on solar power, and internet access is also limited. You can take a comfortable break here, whether you are heading toward the base camp or retreating.

But Gorakshep is not an ideal place to be for those prone to altitude sickness. At a height of more than 5000 meters, this village’s oxygen content is significantly lower. Anybody trekking from the lower region is susceptible to the illness’s symptoms. In particular, inexperienced hikers are more susceptible to the sickness than seasoned ones. It is best to receive medical attention as soon as possible in the lower region if a person experiences any altitude-related illness.

A swift helicopter rescue is the only course of action in such a circumstance to provide immediate medical assistance. This is where our Helicopter Rescue from Gorakshep provides a life-saving evacuation. It is possible to do it from Gorakshep, as helicopters regularly land and operate from here.

Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek

5.0 (1 Review)

5,545 m / 18,192 ft (Kalapatthar)

The Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek is the original route taken by early Everest climbers, such as Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, before the construction of Lukla Airport. It starts from the small hill town of Jiri and slowly takes you through beautiful hills, forests, and traditional villages before joining the main Everest route at Lukla. Once you reach Lukla, the trek follows the popular route through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, and finally to the Base Camp of Mount Everest.

The trek from Jiri to Everest Base Camp is a wonderful experience that provides the opportunity to experience the mix of landscapes from green hills to farmlands to high-altitude glaciers and snowy peaks. The initial phase of the trek from Jiri until reaching Lukla is peaceful, and as it enters the Khumbu region, it becomes busier. Although the EBC trek via Jiri is longer, it provides sufficient time for acclimatization before heading to high elevations and offers a rewarding alternative to the standard Everest Base Camp route. A complete guide for the everest expedition may interest you if you are searching for variety of tours and treks in everest region.

The EBC via Jiri is a perfect itinerary for Everest Base Camp for those seeking a genuine adventure, a deeper connection with the region, and the local mountain communities. From the mesmerizing views of mountain peaks, including the world’s highest peak, to the opportunity to explore Sherpa culture and experience their way of life, the trek through Jiri offers a more meaningful and remarkable experience.

The Everest Base Camp Trek by drive is a unique and more adventurous way to traverse the foothills of the world’s highest mountain, Everest (8,848.86 meters). You will begin with a thrilling overland journey to Salleri from Kathmandu rather than taking a flight to Lukla. It offers a more authentic way to reach Everest Base Camp, as you will follow the footsteps of early Everest expedition pioneers.

The road connecting the capital city with Salleri is adventurous to say the least. You will drive on the winding highway, passing by beautiful Nepalese countryside, hills, and river banks. The road is not paved all the way, so you will drive on a bumpy and dusty off-road. It takes 8 to 9 hours of driving, but the long hours are worth it. The dramatic landscapes and scenery heighten the sense of adventure that awaits you.

From the quaint village of Salleri (2,350 meters), you will drive to Tham Danda or Thamdanda. From here, you will start your trekking journey to the base camp of Everest (5,364 meters) and Kalapatthar (5,545 meters). You will trek on less-frequented trails and pass by less-visited villages, such as Paiya, before joining the classic trail. From Monjo, you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park area. It takes you past notable Sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, and more.

En route, you will cross thrilling suspension bridges, dense forests, and diverse landscapes. The rustic teahouses along the way provide you with shelter and meals during the trek. Run by locals, they also offer insight into the local Sherpa culture, customs, and their unique way of life. The ancient monasteries, gompas, mani walls, and chortens along the trail provide insights into the region’s religion and heritage.

Chola Pass Trek

5,555 m (Kala Patthar)

Chola Pass Trek is for trekkers who want more than just Everest Base Camp Trek. It combines the classic EBC route with the quieter Gokyo Valley and throws in a high mountain pass crossing for good measure. You’ll follow the Dudh Koshi River, walk through Sherpa villages like Namche, climb up to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, and take on the Chola Pass at over 5,300 meters. Then, you loop back into the main route toward Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.

So, this trek isn’t just about one destination. It’s a full circuit. You get the best of both routes: the peaceful side trails of Gokyo and the dramatic finish at Base Camp. Gokyo Ri offers insane views with fewer people on the way, and the Chola Pass keeps things interesting with real high-altitude challenges. Besides this pass section, most of the route follows a well-established trekking route. The itinerary also allows enough time to acclimatize properly, making the trek safer and more comfortable.

If you’re looking for a trek that avoids the usual EBC loop and gives you more variety, this one is it. The landscape changes from river valleys to alpine lakes to glaciers, making the walk wild and exciting throughout the trek. It is not the easiest, but it’s solid for anyone ready to go beyond a basic trekking experience in the Everest region.

The Everest Gokyo Ri trek also known as Everest Gokyo Lake Trek, offers a chance to take a less-traveled path and enjoy a view of Mt. Everest from Gokyo Ri (5,360 m) rather than from Kalapathar. Rather than the crowded and commercial lodges of the EBC Trail, you can travel the quieter trail. Instead of exploring the same classical route that everyone takes, you can explore the other aspects of the Everest region without compromising the Himalayan trekking experience. Ascending the Gokyo Ri, you will witness four of the eight highest mountains in Nepal.

What sets the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek apart is not just its scenery but also serenity. You will cross the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier of Nepal. In this trek, you will explore the Gokyo Lake system. You will at least visit 5 of the Gokyo Lakes. While it can be physically demanding, the rewards are also greater. It is perfectly suitable for you if you want to connect with nature, without facing the difficulties of the Everest Three Passes Trek, and also want to avoid the noise of the EBC trail. Besides, in this trek, you will cross Renjo La Pass (5,360 m), one of the three high passes. So, it is the perfect trek for those seeking both adventure and self-contemplation.

Everest Trekking is one of the most famous treks in the world. Everest is the land of the Sherpa people and the world`s great 8,000m. peaks. Many trekkers walk in front of the road heading to Jiri, through the lovely panoramic hills of the Solu region. Some Trekkers fly into the Tenzing Hillary airport Lukla to start their trek. Lukla is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park and reaches the town of Namche Bazaar, where most trekkers take acclimatize to the high altitude. From this place one may branch towards the village of Thame or continue on to take off the main Khumbu routes to go Gokyo Lake or after an hour trail direct to Everest Base Camp. The administrative headquarters of the Khumbu region; Khumjung or Thami are more typical Sherpa villages; or Tengboche Monastery. From Tengboche, you will have an excellent view of Mt.Everest 8848m.and its more spectacular neighbor Ama Dablam 6856m.

Everest Trekking, as well as the southern flank of Pumori 7145mtrs and you, can see Mt. Everest like a mirror from the top of Kalapathar which is 5550 meters down to the Mt. Pumari as well as a day to hike to Everest Base Camp 5375mtrs. There is a famous monastery in Thyangboche which is situated at 3900mtrs where the Mani Rimdu festival of dances is celebrated once a year.

Everest region trek is possible whole year-round, the best times to visit are from the beginning of March to mid-May and from the beginning of September to mid-November. The winters are very cold and deep snow it makes difficult to travel higher than Tengboche also lodges may be open fewer above this area. Summers, on the other hand, are wet, and the spectacular peaks are often hiding in the clouds and misty. April and early May is a good times to see the hedgerows and trees bursting into bloom with Rhododendrons in a particular place and a spectacular splash of color to the landscape and glacier. The views are much better after the summer monsoons have cleared the atmosphere of dust, but the days are shorter and cooler.
